With a Bachelor of Commerce and a typical Kiwi OE spirit, Peter set off on his travels in 2012. His adventures
took him to San Diego, Vancouver and Melbourne, where he gained valuable work experience in real estate
marketing and commercial tenant public relations.
Peter returned to NZ in early 2016 and took a position in an investment sales team for Colliers International.
However, he couldn’t envision staying in the sales and leasing side of commercial real estate – agency life
wasn’t the right fit for him. A friend suggested transitioning to commercial property management, a move
that turned out very well and he hasn’t looked back.
“I found out about Viranda through a recruitment agency. I met the directors and other staff and found
them to be very diligent and easy to communicate with. It was a good fit for me because of my existing
knowledge about commercial property and marketing, plus it allowed me to expand the scope of projects I
was working on.” he says.
Peter has settled into an exciting role at Viranda. Over a typical week he covers all types of business and it’s
the variety that fuels him. From lease negotiations, rent reviews, capital refurbishments, to collaborating
with agents in the leasing and purchase of commercial property for clients – there is always something
happening and he enjoys the fast-paced, changing environment.
“It’s full of opportunities to review and new things to learn. Successfully leasing our client’s vacant
properties is very rewarding, in fact our entire culture is focused on achieving, and that’s very motivating.”
